
Captain Jodie Alderson-Smith made her 50th appearance for Great Britain this evening in the final game of the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Dumfries.
GB secured the bronze medal on home ice as Alderson-Smith became the 12th GB player in history to reach the half-century milestone.
Alderson-Smith was presented with her special 50th cap by Ice Hockey UK General Secretary Andy French in a short ceremony in the locker room ahead of the match against Italy.
She made her debut for GB at the 2014 World Championship in Italy, scoring on her debut in a 6-2 victory over Australia.
The GB forward has played in nine World Championship tournaments and two Olympic Qualifiers.
The other 11 players to play 50 times or more for GB are Louise Adams, Saffron Allen, Georgina Farman, Katherine Gale, Lauren Halliwell, Katie Henry, Nicole Jackson, Alice Lamb, Chrissie Newman, Angela Taylor and Emily Turner.
