
Great Britain beat Kazakhstan 2-0 in their third game at the World Championship Division I Group B in Dumfries.
Nicole Jackson – on the night she won her 71st cap – put in a very impressive performance as she secured a 20-shot shutout.
GB went ahead in the first period when Laura Horwood’s feed from behind the net found Ellie Wallace in the slot to score her first international goal (17:08).
In the second period, Nicole Jackson made a superb stick save to deny Madina Tursynova from close-range on the powerplay
At the other, Arina Chshyokolova made two outstanding saves to stop Aimee Headland and Ellin Rees.
Headland and Casey Traill had long-range shots turned away by Chshyokolova early in the third session and Jodie Alderson-Smith shot just wide.
It was 2-0 when Katie Marsden fed Chamonix Jackson in the slot to score her second GB goal (46:36).
Nicole Jackson made a number of close-range saves as GB had to kill-off successive penalties including over 30 seconds of five-on-three.
