Great Britain face Norway in a World Championship relegation showdown in the O2 Arena in Prague this afternoon at 16:20 (15:20 UK time).

GB know a regulation-time victory will guarantee they will compete in the 2025 World Championship which is taking place in Sweden and Denmark.

Norway have won only once in their six games so far which was a 2-0 victory over Denmark earlier in the tournament.

Austria ensured their top-flight status yesterday with a 4-1 victory over Norway who remain in trouble in seventh place in Group A.

Norway have continuously been at the top level since 2006 and their best finish was sixth in 2011 in Slovakia when they reached the quarter-finals before losing 4-1 to Finland.

Team News
Defenceman Mark Richardson will move onto 114 caps against Norway today which takes him joint-second with Matthew Myers.

GB’s all-time leading cap-holder is forward Jonathan Phillips who retired last season after winning the gold medal in Nottingham and finished with 116 caps.

Netminder Ben Bowns got his second start of the tournament in Saturday’s game with Czechia, with Jackson Whistle starting the other three games so far.

Josh Tetlow and Cole Shudra sat out the game against the hosts with Sam Jones and Cam Critchlow returning to the line-up.

GB have no injury worries to report so will select their 22-player gameday roster from a fully-fit squad.

Last Time They Met
GB and Norway met at the 2022 World Championship in Tampere in Finland and served up a seven-goal thriller that was  eventually decided on penalty shots.

Norway won the game 4-3 but that was only half the story as GB came from 3-0 down to score three third-period goals through Robert Dowd, Brett Perlini and Mark Richardson.

Dowd (52:51) and Perlini (53:29) scored within 38 seconds of each other and Richardson’s goal (56:09) forced overtime.

After no goals in the extra period, Norway took the extra point in the shootout
