Great Britain beat Chinese Taipei 10-2 to complete the U18 Women’s World Championship Division II Group A in Riga with a 100 per cent-winning record.

GB, who had already secured the gold medal and promotion with yesterday’s victory over Latvia, put on another clinic of a performance to make it five wins from five matches.

Meeyah Forbes became the first GB player to score four goals in one game, as well as two hat-tricks in a tournament.

Alisha O’Doherty started between the pipes for her GB debut with Lucy Holliday as back-up.

Rebecca Voslinsky put GB ahead after only 48 seconds (00:48), before Wang Shu-Yu equalised for Chinese Taipei (05:40).

Goals from Emma Lamberton (13:42) and Forbes (16:09) saw GB go to the first intermission with a 3-1 advantage.

In the second session, Milly Thulbourne scored GB’s fourth (27:14), Ruby Newlands netted short-handed (35:46) and Forbes grabbed her second of the afternoon (39:28).

Yu Xinru was on target for Chinese Taipei’s second goal (45:32), before Tahlia Davidson-Wright scored on the powerplay for GB (56:28).

Forbes completed her hat-trick (56:56) and 25 seconds later scored her fourth goal (57:21).

Davidson-Wright netted her second of the afternoon just a second before the buzzer (59:59).
