Robert Dowd has been appointed as the new Captain of Great Britain, while Liam Kirk and Mark Richardson have been named Alternate Captains.
The 35-year-old, who made his GB debut in 2008-09, takes over from Jonathan Phillips who retired at the end of last season.
Dowd will captain GB for the first time in tomorrow’s opening game of the Olympic Qualifiers against China in Cardiff.
“It’s a very proud moment for me in my career and I know I have some big boots to fill,” said Dowd.
“It was a special moment when Pete (Russell) told me.
“There’s a little bit of pressure taking the job on from Jonathan (Phillips). We made some special memories under him.
“I hope I can do him proud and help GB to lift more trophies.”
GB face China, Romania and Serbia from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th February at the Vindico Arena in Cardiff.
The group winners will progress to Final Qualifying in August 2024 – the final stage of qualifying before the Winter Olympics in Italy.
