Great Britain have confirmed their final team for the Women’s World Championship which is taking place in Dumfries from this week.
An injury to forward Katherine Gale means she’s won’t be in the squad for the six-team Division I Group B tournament at the Dumfries Ice Bowl.
NextGen players Lilly Endicott and Emma Lamberton will complete the 22-player roster with call-ups to a full GB squad for the first time.
Britain host Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Korea and Slovenia from 9th to 15th April, with the winners being promoted to the second tier.
Head Coach, Sean Alderson, said: “We had four NextGen players training with us since we arrived in Dumfries and our initial plan was to select one to complete the main squad.
“With the unfortunate withdrawal of Katherine, we have been able to promote two NextGen players who have done extremely well over the past four days in our training and matches.
“We are excited to reward Lilly and Emma with this opportunity as we build to France 2030. Both played a crucial part in the gold-meal success for the under-18s earlier this year.
“Of course, it’s disappointing to lose Katherine who is a valuable and experienced member of the GB squad and we wish her well in her recovery from injury.
“But we have a strong group and Lilly and Emma are excellent additions to our final roster.”

The World Championship begins on Wednesday with three matches including Great Britain against Latvia (20:00 face-off).
