Great Britain face Japan today in their final game of the Olympic Qualifiers in Aalborg at 12:30 (11:30 BST).

Japan, who are coached by former Cardiff Devils Head Coach Jarrod Skalde, took a point off Denmark on Friday in a 3-2 overtime loss.

Team News
GB have a fully-fit 22-player gameday squad for today’s game with Japan.

Ben Bowns has started the first two games of the tournament and the coaching staff will name the starting goalie ahead of face-off.

Last Time We Met
GB and Japan have met twice in the past seven years.

The most recent meeting came in a Euro Ice Hockey Challenge in Milton Keynes in February 2023 as GB skated to a 3-0 victory.

Ben Bowns secured a 32-shot shutout while Mike Hammond, Davey Phillips and Liam Kirk scored for GB.

In 2017, GB beat Japan 4-0 in the World Championship Division I Group B on home ice in Belfast to win the gold medal and secure promotion.

Matthew Myers scored twice and Robert Dowd and Brendan Brooks were also on target in a comprehensive victory.

Bowns was named Player of the Game with a 20-shot shutout.
