Great Britain beat Netherlands 3-2 in a thrilling warm-up game ahead of the women’s Olympic Qualifiers getting under way in iceSheffield on Thursday.

It was the second of two warm-up games for GB after Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Spain after penalty-shots.

GB went ahead through Laura Horwood (39:24) just as the second period was coming to a close.

Netherlands scored twice in under four minutes at the start of the third session to turn the game on its head.

Savine Wielenga scored the equaliser (41:53) and Esther de Jong’s powerplay goal put Netherlands ahead (45:23).

Katie Marsden kept her cool to score GB’s equaliser with a penalty-shot in the closing stages (57:47).

The game went to overtime and Katie Henry scored the game-winner (63:33) to make it two wins out of two for GB in the warm-up games.

Olympic Qualifiers
Tickets for this week’s Olympic Qualifiers in the Bauer Arena will be available on the day at the iceSheffield reception.

For people wishing to buy in advance, they will also be available from noon on Wednesday.

Great Britain face Netherlands, Spain and Latvia at the Bauer Arena in iceSheffield from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th December.

The winners will progress to Final Olympic Qualifying in February 2025 for a place at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Admission is via Day Tickets which covers two matches a day and cost just £15 (plus fees) for adults.

Concession tickets (over-65s and under-16s) will be on sale for only £8 (plus fees).
