Great Britain beat Poland 4-3 after penalty-shots in a thrilling second game of the two-match women’s international series at Lee Valley Ice Centre.

Poland took the first game 3-2 in overtime on Friday, but GB bounced back with a dramatic victory.

Nicole Jackson started between the pipes for GB.

Poland went ahead short-handed through Wiktoria Sikorska (08:39) and Olivia Tomczok made it 2-0 early in the second period (20:26).

Rachel Cartwright reduced the deficit on the powerplay (23:43) and just over two minutes later, Katie Marsden tied the game (25:45).

Magdalena Lapies put the visitors ahead (35:50) to ensure they took a one-goal lead to the intermission.

Julia Beaven replaced Jackson in the GB net for the third period.

GB pushed for the equaliser and it arrived on the powerplay late in the game as Marsden scored her second (55:23) to force overtime.

With no goals in the extra period, Beaven stood firm in the shootout with Emily Harris and Jodie Alderson-Smith scoring for GB to secure a superb comeback victory.
