Ice Hockey UK are pleased to announce Tracey Orr as the new Vice-Chair and Senior Independent Director and Jeremy Evans has been appointed the new Independent Non-Executive Director – Finance.

The pair bring a wealth of experience to two very important roles in the federation and replace the vacant roles left by Eric Morton and Martin Gill after their Board terms expired.

Orr is an experienced commercial Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources leader, having spent 37 years working in the Co-operative movement.

She is a Senior independent Director on the Board of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and a member of both their Remuneration Committee and Nominations Committee, acting as Board Sponsor for the development of the Women’s Game.

Orr said: “I look forward to working with the other members of the Board and bring my experience from other sectors to Ice Hockey UK.

“I am really excited to be taking up this very important role at Ice Hockey UK and to work with the Board to move the sport forward.”

Evans is a qualified accountant and has over 30 years business experience in senior UK and global finance roles across multiple commercial sectors. As Global CFO, he established and led the successful global expansion of an international financial services business over a ten-year period.

He now runs a small executive consulting, coaching and mentoring business and is also a trustee at Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading children’s palliative care charity.

Evans said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board at Ice Hockey UK. Having been a fan of ice hockey for over 35 years, now is an incredibly exciting time within British ice hockey. 

“The leadership team have set a clear strategic plan with some challenging but achievable targets in place.

‘I look forward to playing my part in supporting the Executives and my fellow Board members in our stated ambition of getting a GB team to the Winter Olympics in 2030.”

Ice Hockey UK CEO, Henry Staelens, said: “I am thrilled to welcome both Tracey and Jeremy to these vital roles on the Board.

“They both have a wealth of experience across many sectors and they will be important for us as we continue to evolve as a federation.”
