The UK Ice Hockey Foundation is a charity established with a clear mission: to strengthen and grow a sustainable pool of world-class ice hockey players in the UK. We empower clubs, coaches, parents and players across the UK by providing them with the support, education and coaching required to develop our athletes. We are committed to:
Raising the bar for coaching and performance
Addressing affordability to sustainability lower the cost of play
Empowering clubs and rinks to improve ice time and access
Increasing national awareness to introduce hockey to a new generation
The Foundation is made up of UK and international hockey experts who are currently working closely with youth clubs across the country to elevate club programming, coaching standards, player development, and ultimately long‑term international performance.
On 26-28 June 2026 in Sheffield, together with Ice Hockey UK, the Foundation will host a landmark event for the sport: the Hockey Development Summit. This event will bring together over 200 leaders from the UK’s junior programmes, marking the first time the entire youth landscape has convened with the shared purpose of reshaping the development environment for young players across the nation. Throughout the weekend, international guest speakers and experts from the Foundation will share insights into world-class, age‑appropriate and developmentally-aligned approaches to programming, coaching and competition.
