Ice Hockey UK (IHUK) is seeking to appoint an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) with a specialist experience in Human Resources / People / Culture.
IHUK is recognised both nationally and internationally as the national governing body responsible for developing elite ice hockey in the UK, with a clear focus on developing successful GB teams, supporting the Home Nations’ league structure, international relations and large scale-events.
IHUK has recently entered into a new partnership with UK Sport to put plans for GB to compete successfully at major championships including the Olympic Games in the next eight to 12 years.
As part of this ambitious plan, the IHUK board – led by the Chair Clifton Wrottesley – is undergoing transformation and is now seeking to appoint an HR-focused INED to join the board.
To satisfy the definition of independence, candidates must be completely free from any commercial connections within ice hockey in the UK and must not hold a significant role in a club or other ice hockey-related organisation and must – from the perspective of an objective outsider – be viewed as independent.
Participation or non-political or commercial involvement in ice hockey does not in itself prevent any individual from being appointed.
