Great Britain are pleased to announce the first three players selected for next month’s European Cup of Nations being held at the Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh, with the full squad to be announced over the next week.

Liam Kirk (Eisbären Berlin – DEL), Kris Inglis (Dundee Stars – EIHL) and Logan Neilson (Fife Flyers – EIHL) will all be part of the squad for the four-team tournament.

Great Britain will host Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th February at the famous old ice rink.

Individual day tickets – covering two matches – cost just £20 for adults and £12 for concessions and children under-16s

Liam Kirk (Eisbären Berlin – DEL)
Kirk currently has 29 goals and 18 assists for 47 points in 41 matches for German DEL side Eisbären Berlin. The 26-year-old became the first English player to be picked in an NHL draft when he was selected by Arizona Coyotes in 2018.

Kris Inglis (Dundee Stars – EIHL)
Dundee-born Inglis made his GB debut in November’s European Cup of Nations in Poland. The 27-year-old has played for his hometown club throughout his career and is currently in his ninth season with the Stars.

Logan Neilson (Fife Flyers – EIHL)
Neilson made his national-team debut in last year’s World Championship in Romania as GB won the gold medal and promotion to the top level. Domestically, the 22-year-old made a mid-season move to Fife and has since scored six goals for the Flyers.

Memories of the past meet with the future
From the buzz of the Murrayfield Racers era to today’s Capitals, Scottish rinks – and Murrayfield in particular – have supplied GB with scorers, playmakers and even elite officials for generations.

Hosting the IIHF European Cup of Nations at Murrayfield brings that heritage into the present: the same end boards, the same noise, but a new generation preparing for the top division.

It’s a chance for hockey fans to see GB on home ice in a rink that’s helped produce the people and the culture that got us here.

Don’t miss out on international hockey at one of the most famous old rinks in the UK. Secure your seats now.
