Ice Hockey UK are pleased to announce the appointment of Grant King as a new Independent Non-Executive Director.
King is currently Managing Director, Human Resources, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with Jefferies Investment Bank and has 18 years’ experience in the sector.
During this time, he has held several senior Human Resources roles across Europe, Canada and the US for leading financial services organisations, including Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, TD Bank, JP Morgan Chase and HSBC.
Among his accomplishments, he drove the strategy that resulted in his employer earning a placement on Forbes Top Diverse Employers List.
King also has an ice hockey background and is a former netminder for Great Britain’s junior sides, as well appearing for Slough Jets and Guildford Flames in the British National League between 1996 and 2003.
Ice Hockey UK CEO, Henry Staelens, said: “Adding Grant to the IHUK board is another really important appointment – a strong blend of ice hockey experience, global expertise in the corporate world and he’s a humble but ambitious guy.
“He has a skillset that we needed as part of ongoing evolution and he’ll bring great balance alongside the other recently appointed INEDs and existing board members.”
King’s appointment follows the announcement of Claire Herbert, David Clarke, Dean Hardman and Faye Andrews as Non-Executive Directors last month.
