Ice Hockey UK are thrilled to announce an official partnership with the Great Britain Supporters’ Club (GBSC) for the next three years.
The exciting link-up involves a wide range of initiatives that will help further grow GBSC and its membership.
GBSC was formed in June 1993 by Annette and Allan Petrie. After arranging a trip for around 12 people in Copenhagen in 1991, they took 25 fans from across the UK to GB’s triumphant promotion in Eindhoven in 1993.
While there, they found out that many fans had paid over the odds for their trip and some had come independently and from this the supporters club was formed.
The Barmy Army have been following GB men’s and women’s teams all around the world ever since and their unwavering support, noise and dedication is the highlight of any international tournament.
Ice Hockey UK CEO, Henry Staelens, said: “It’s great news to agree a formal, longer-term partnership between GBSC and IHUK.
“Their support is huge for GB in so many ways and we are so grateful for their continued unwavering backing.
“The partnership will bring added-value to GBSC membership and will further enhance the strong links between GB teams and supporters.”
Annette and Allan Petrie said: “GBSC are proud to have agreed an extended partnership with IHUK and build further on our relationship and funding for the GB teams.
“We feel this will be a fruitful relationship and will improve benefit for GBSC members.”
