Great Britain have announced a roster change for the men’s U20 World Championship Division II Group A which gets under way this month in Dumfries.
Leeds Knights defenceman Bailey Perre replaces fellow defenceman Sam Cooper who has had to withdraw because of injury.
Assistant Coach, Dayle Keen, said: “It’s so unfortunate to lose a player at this late stage and I know Sam will be really disappointed.
“Just as when Cameron (Hamill) replaced Sam (Lyne), it shows we have great depth in our programme and this means there’s a quality replacement.
“Bailey exemplifies the characteristics that we endeavour to uncover within the GB programme. He’s a selfless and team-first player who will block shots and be an asset in the d-zone.”
The World Championship – which is takes place on home ice at the Dumfries Ice Bowl – gets under way on Monday.
GB will face Lithuania, Netherlands and Spain, along with promoted China and relegated Korea.
Tickets are now on sale with a week-long pass costing only £25 and with 15 games throughout the tournament, it works out at a fantastic £1.66 per game.
Day tickets are now available for just £10 which covers three games. Children under the age of 16 go free with a paying adult with all tickets.
