
It’s gameday three for Great Britain and a meeting with Japan at the World Championship Division I Group A in Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania at 12:30 (10:30 BST).
GB go into the game second in the group with two hard-fought victories in the opening two matches of the tournament.
Sunday’s 4-3 penalty-shot win over Ukraine was followed by a 2-1 success in overtime against hosts Romania on Monday.
The opening game of the tournament saw Japan beaten 4-1 by Italy which was followed by a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Poland on day two.
Japan’s Head Coach is former NHLer Jarrod Skalde who coached Cardiff Devils from 2020 to 2022.
Team News
It’s a special day for captain Robert Dowd who becomes the seventh player in GB history to reach 100 caps.
Dowd joins Mark Richardson, Jonathan Phillips, David Phillips, Matthew Myers, Ashley Tait and David Longstaff to hit the century landmark.
There’s a 50th cap for GB forward Brett Perlini who made his international debut in 2018.
After winning the DEL playoffs, forward Liam Kirk arrived in Romania on Tuesday and will take his place in the line-up.

Previous Meetings
The two sides met in the Olympic Qualifiers in Aalborg, Denmark back in August last year as GB skated 3-2 victory.
Sean Norris scored his first international goal while Liam Kirk and Josh Waller were also on target.
The last World Championship meeting came in Belfast in 2017 as GB won 4-0 to secure the gold medal and promotion to Division 1A.
Matthew Myers scored twice and there were also goals for Robert Dowd and Brendan Brooks.
