
Great Britain face Poland in the World Championship Division I Group A in Romania needing a point for promotion to the 2026 World Championship in Switzerland.
GB have won all four matches so far as an opening-day 4-3 penalty-shot victory over Ukraine was followed by overtime wins against Romania (2-1) and Japan (5-4) before a stunning 5-1 success against Italy.
Poland began the tournament with wins over Romania (4-1) and Japan (2-1), but have have since lost to Italy (1-4) and Ukraine (1-4).
It leaves the group intriguingly poised with four teams – GB, Ukraine, Italy and Poland – all battling for promotion.
GB and Ukraine currently lead the way on nine points with Italy on seven and Poland on six.

Recent Meetings
GB and Poland met in a thriller in Nottingham in 2023 when both sides won promotion to the top division, the 2023 World Championship in Czechia.
GB won 5-4 as Jonathan Phillips, Cade Neilson, Liam Kirk and Mike Hammond netted in regulation-time, before Ben Lake scored the game-winner in overtime.
The two sides also met at the 2018 World Championship Division I Group A in Budapest, Hungary with GB skating to a 5-3 victory on their way to the gold medal and promotion.
Brett Perlini, Colin Shields, Brendan Books, Ben O’Connor were all on target and Jonathan Phillips sealed the win with an empty-net goals. Netminder Ben Bowns saved a Poland penalty-shot.
