Great Britain were beaten 7-1 by hosts Italy in the first of two Under-18 Men’s World Championship warm-up games in Asiago.

Alessandro Parco (11:45) gave Italy a first-period lead and Lorenzo Ferretti made it two early in the second session (22:29).

Rosario Tolomelli scored for Italy on the powerplay (29:12) before Josef Prast made it four (32:53).

Bailey Yates and Brynley Capps combined for Ricards Misins to reduce the arrears for GB on the powerplay (37:14).

Italy scored just 64 seconds later through Jacopo De Luca (38:20) to lead 5-1 at the second intermission.

Philipp Winkler increased Italy’s lead on the powerplay (43:30) and Ferretti put the seal on the win with his second goal of the night (50:19).
