
Tim Bratton has been appointed to the board of Ice Hockey UK as an Independent Non-Executive Director (Legal).
Bratton is currently General Counsel of the Football Association which is the governing body of English football. His remit at the FA spans legal, regulation, investigations, corporate governance and safeguarding.
He has significant prior experience in the media sector, having served as General Counsel at the Financial Times and another national news organisation, as well as working in a wide range of organisational environments, including PLC and private equity.
IHUK CEO, Henry Staelens, said: “I’d like to welcome Tim to the board of Ice Hockey UK and we are thrilled to have him with us.
“His experience will be so vital for us moving forward and he will help us deliver our ambitions for the sport going forwards.”
Outside of work, Tim enjoys watching a wide range of live sports, including football (Brighton & Hove Albion) and cricket (Middlesex and England).
Bratton said “I feel really lucky to be joining the board of Ice Hockey UK as we work towards achieving our ambitions through to 2030 in line with the strategy.
“I look forward to working with Clifton, Henry and the team as we aim for a single unified governing body for ice hockey across the UK.
“I anticipate that my experience from sport and media, as well as my corporate background, will be helpful to the organisation over the coming years. I cannot wait to get started.”
