Great Britain’s women’s teams underwent a two-day camp as part of their preparations for the 2023-24 international season.
GB Women, as well as the under-18 and under-16 junior teams, met in Flintshire at the Deeside Ice Arena at the weekend.
Each team took part in on-ice training and off-ice classroom-based sessions which included nutrition talks by the Ice Hockey UK Performance Services off-ice staff.
Ice Hockey UK Chair Clifton Wrottesley talked to the assembled athletes, coaches, managers and support staff about the plans for the GB women’s programme in the future.
Great Britain Women’s Head Coach, Mike Clancy, said: “It was superb to get all the teams together again in one venue over the weekend.
“It’s vital for our younger players to see the pathway ahead and so it was great to have everyone mixing together in one venue.
“Not only is it good for the players but it was important for the coaches to share ideas and plans for the upcoming season.
“It was a very competitive camp, with vital work taking place on and off-the-ice, and I think all coaches, players and staff took a lot away from the two days.”
