Jackson Whistle reaches 50 caps for Great Britain in today’s game with Italy at the World Championship Division I Group A in Romania.
Whistle becomes the fourth netminder in history to hit the half-century landmark after Ben Bowns, Stevie Lyle and Stephen Murphy.
His first tournament was the 2018 World Championship Division I Group A in Budapest where GB won the gold medal and promotion to the top level.
Whistle was also part of the gold medal-winning team in Nottingham in 2023 and has been part of four top-flight World Championship tournaments in Slovakia (2019), Latvia (2021), Finland (2022) and Czechia (2024).
He was presented with his 50th cap by IHUK General Secretary Andy French in the locker room as part of a special ceremony which included a speech by GB General Manager Andy Buxton.
