Great Britain Under-16 Women’s Head Coach Reg Wilcox says last weekend’s two games against the Netherlands have been so vital for the team’s development.
GB beat Netherlands 7-0 last Saturday and followed that with a stunning 10-1 victory on Sunday.
Wilcox said: “I am very proud of the team. We had four very busy days in Hull and everyone worked hard throughout the week.
“We had plenty of time on the ice during those four days, but it was great to see the development of each player in a relatively short period of time.
“The two games against the Netherlands showed where we are against a nation we frequently come up against in international competition and the girls played really well to gain the two wins.
“They were all buying in to what we want to achieve to prepare these young players to take the next step in their Great Britain careers.
“I would like to thank the Netherlands for making the trip, Ice Hockey UK for organising the event and the staff at the Holiday Inn for making our stay there enjoyable.
“Special thanks to the staff at Hull Arena who put on two great game day experiences for all the players to make this a memorable weekend.
“The future is bright for the GB Women’s Programme.”
