Great Britain beat Spain 3-0 in the Olympic Qualifiers at iceSheffield to set-up a winner-takes-all encounter with Netherlands tomorrow.

The winners will progress to Final Qualifying in February next year to reach the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Netminder Ella Howard secured a 31-shutout as GB made it two wins from two following Thursday’s 3-2 victory over Latvia.

Howard made a superb point-blank save to deny Maria Serna at one end and it proved a massive moment as GB broke down the ice as Katherine Gale fed Katie Henry in the slot who went top-shelf (9:48).

Spain went close on a late second-period powerplay but Howard denied Vega Munoz with a great glove save

GB continued to knock on the door with Katie Marsden and Laura Horwood going close.

Henry scored on the powerplay for her second of the night as she cut inside from the left and fired past Carolina Moreno (53:42).

Jodie Alderson-Smith wrapped the game up with an empty-net goal with 65 seconds remaining (58:55).
