The Nottingham Vipers held a World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend event at the National Ice Centre on Sunday.

The session welcomed females of all ages, who enjoyed learning the basics of hockey in a fun and safe environment.

Event highlights include…

On-Ice Activities: Attendees had the opportunity to engage in on-ice activities designed to teach the fundamentals of ice hockey. The session was filled with energy, excitement, and a strong sense of community as participants showcased their new skills.

Watching the Vipers in action: Following the session, the girls were invited to watch the Nottingham Vipers face-off against the Solway Sharks. This match added to the excitement and provided valuable lessons and inspiration for the young participants.

Ryan Rathbone said: “Hosting the World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend in Nottingham since 2011 has been incredibly rewarding.

“These events have attracted hundreds of females to the sport, helping them get active, learn valuable life skills, socialize, and make lasting friendships.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the support of all the organisations involved.”

The National Ice Centre, along with Ice Hockey UK and the Nottingham Vipers, remains committed to promoting ice hockey and providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.

This event underscored the power of sports in uniting communities and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
