Great Britain were beaten 12-3 by Austria in their opening game at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in South Korea.
GB took the lead early in the game and the two teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of the first period.
Britain kept with Austria for much of the second session, with the higher-ranked nation only leading 5-3 at the second intermission.
Austria showed their experience in the third period scoring seven unanswered goals.
GB Head Coach, Danny Meyers, said: “For two periods we were excellent and very comfortable.
“Their goalie made an incredible save which would have tied it at 4-4.
“Despite the loss, we got to learn a lot today and we can take that moving forward.”
